![]() I re-imported the DNGs with sharp in ‘Default’ in the Iridient and I have now introduced the JPGs created in camera (I usually shoot RAW + JPG), having adjusted in Lightroom the DNG and RAF ‘Profile’ for the type of film simulation I used In the JPG. DNG Left, RAF Right DNG Left, RAF Right DNG Left, RAF Right DNG Left, RAF Right This way, the difference in the detail from Iridient DNG files in relation to RAFs is already smaller, but still (slightly) noticeable. And, again, import and compare the images with RAF imported directly, and without any editing, into Lightroom. The next step I gave on the Iridient was to move the ‘Sharpening’ item to ‘None’. In this case Lightroom presents the cleanest images, only noticing the grain (actually nice in the case of the Fujifilm cameras) of an image with higher ISO. And this happens with any photo that has a slightly higher ISO. However, I note that, in the night image, with ISO 3200, unaesthetic artefacts (worms) appear. Iridient DNGs come much more detailed than RAF imported directly into Lightroom. Increasing to 1:1 in Lightroom the differences are notorious and abysmal. An interesting alternative is to integrate, as if it was a plugin, the Iridient in Lightroom – in this article you will find all the necessary steps. That is, in the ‘RAW Options’ tab, almost everything in ‘Default’.Īfter finishing the conversion of the chosen files, I imported the DNGs and RAFs into Lightroom. But nothing better than to start working with the definitions that the author of Iridient thinks are the most balanced. That said, let’s go to what matters and what everyone will be waiting for: what results do we get from using this Iridient X Transformer? Let’s see next.Īfter we start this tool we have a series of options that we can adjust to taste. Here’s the first note: Do the conversions when you least need the computer, or you won’t be able to do almost anything if you want to work while you’re converting. And we’re talking about a reasonably well equipped machine. Except that, to convert a considerable number of files, brutally slowed the speed of my PC. But, in a general way, it behaved very well. When the Mac version comes out, the workflow will be a bit smaller.Īs software in Beta stage, this Iridient is not immune to errors, small bugs. When using this tool, I have to use another operating system to convert the RAF. You can start by downloading the beta version of Iridient X-Transformer 1.0 from here. Obviously, this is a demo version that places watermarks on the converted files. ![]() Only you can reach that conclusion, not me. Okay, but is it worth spending about $ 30 on this tool? Yes, and maybe not. And almost the entire Internet knows that Iridient makes the demosaic of Fuji files like no other. In a very simple way, what Iridient X-Transformer does is, using the technology from the Iridient Developer, converts the RAF files to DNG. ![]() For now in Beta stage and Windows version only (Mac users will have to wait a few more days – it will be released this month). However, a few days ago a new tool that caught my attention: the Iridient X-Transformer. Sharp values in Lightroom: ‘Amount: 85’, ‘Radius: 1’, ‘Detail: 100’, ‘Masking: 25’ ![]() Example of a RAF with paint effect and ‘worms’ But I will not dwell on this subject, already so much discussed and debated on the Internet. After testing some softwares – suggested by other Fuji camera users – in the end I continued using the Lightroom, even though I know it has a difficult relationship with the fine detail of the RAF files – when we abuse the ‘Amount’ of the ‘Sharpening’ option, the so called ‘worms’ that everyone complains about, or the ‘paint’ effect, starts to appear. When I moved from the Canon DSLR system to Fuji I wrote an article about my new post processing workflow of the photographs I’m doing. So, while reading this review, please note that it refers to the first version.) (Edit: After the publishing date of this article, the Beta 2 version of the Iridient X Transformer was released with many fixes, including some aspects mentioned here. ![]() ![]() I can see me buying everything in my Top Ten even though I own them already to add to my collection and a few more beside. To submit a request to return single cards or other merchandise, please contact our Customer Service team within forty-eight (48) hours of the order’s delivery. Even the cards that don’t see any or much play in Pauper are great choices like Trinket Mage that I can see a use for in a Commander deck or two.Īmongst the main set it is surprising we have no interesting down shifts to brew around but at least we do not have to worry about Sprout Swarm with buyback in draft. We have some attractive looking cards in the set and there has clearly been some great thought in the selection of the time shifted cards. Definitely a card I will be looking to acquire a playset of. Wow, it has been so long since we saw Ponder printed and the great thing is that we have the best artwork rather than some random merfolk in the background. I was really impressed to see this version of Bojuka Bog, this is such a versatile card and even finds a home to enable black mana splashes as well. Really looking forward to picking these up soon. Whilst Ninja of the Deep Hours has been reprinted in several supplemental products this will be the first time that we get a foil option since the original printing. Even when it feels like a dead draw you still have the clue to open which at the very least digs you closer to an answer. Whenever I build a Pauper deck with white in it this is the first card on the deck list. Thraben Inspector is such a great card and one of my favourites of all time. Having the best black finisher in the format with the old school frame is awesome for me. However, we also have the recent borderless Commander Legends version which I prefer. Mulldrifter is one of my favourite cards so getting the old border really pleased me. One of my original decks for Pauper was Bogles and now I have to consider upgrading my foils to the funky new border. This could be higher but we have plenty of choices including Theros, Theros: Beyond Death and promotional pack versions to choose from. ![]() Now I am known as a fan of Mono Black Devotion and I do like the new frame. We have to ensure our elven friend makes the list, the prospect of sleeping on the sofa when my wife Rachel reads the article is a risk I am not prepared to take. I see the argument that the whole cycle should have been included but I disagree, there isn’t a draft archetype to support in TSR so the extra land slot can be used for something not necessarily Pauper specific like Wastes. I only use them in Boros Metalcraft decks rather than Affinity to power up Ardent Recruit and Galvanic Blast. I certainly like the artefact lands and luckily. Temur Battle Rage does allow for random wins from nowhere but is not really my style of play. Stonehorn Dignitary could just not make the top ten, this is entirely a personal choice based on the miserable play experience it generates in flicker decks. Molten Rain is a solid sideboard card and even making an appearance in cascade land destruction decks increasing its value. Lava Spike only gets a mention as I am not really a fan of burn so as this is a personal list it did not make the cut. So, before I get to my top ten, I am going to run through the good cards that almost made it. ![]() The full complete list is here which I have broken down by colour.Ĭlearly some of the chosen cards are not played within the format so I am going to do my personal Top Ten. ![]() We have twenty-six Pauper legal cards within the Timeshifted section of Time Spiral Remastered, however, which look like they will be the most sought after? ![]() ![]() ![]() In the LA, I felt like Katerina was a spoiled brat who killed herself when she couldn't get her way. he's a badass who likes killing people? In the Anime Asimov and Katerina are tragedy told in 15 minutes that's worthy of Shakespeare. We are just expected to like this Spike because. When we are cheering for spike in the anime, it's because we got to see him practice his kung fu and bitch at Jet about the lack of meat in his food, we like him. There's none of that in the LA, we are expected to like it because spike bicycle kicks a chip into someone's face and then gets into a fist fight. It starts right out of the gates telling you how naunced they are going to be tackling it.Ī lot of people don't get why the fans of the original hate it so much when it's just more television, but the thing is, there's a feel to all of Cowboy Bebop, the world they are in, the characters we are following, even how the minor details, the art style of each episode, and the way the music ties in all works together to manipulate you into caring. Trying to play it straight makes it feel like a parody. Live actors are always going to look cheesy trying to do cartoon things. The problem, and this is a problem with a lot of live-action adaptations, is that this a totally different medium which cannot replicate the same ideas and feelings as the source medium. The problem was that they chased both because they thought they could capture the same vibe as the anime 1-for-1. Again, not going to satisfy everyone but at least there's a reason to watch. Tone down the cartoonish whimsical stuff to be more serious and realistic and have tightly written scripts with one coherent narrative. Or go in the opposite direction and make it more of a 'prestige drama' set in space. Some people might not have liked that it's not a 'pure' 1-to-1 adaptation, but you're not satisfying everyone anyways and it would have at least had a compelling identity to watch for itself. Lean into the stylishness and over-the-top action. The final trailer with all the zany transitions actually had me hyped and I wish that's what the series was. Feels like the showrunners couldn't decide it if it wanted to be serious adaptation or campy, so it split the difference and ended up in a weird no mans land of the cheesiness undercutting the serious parts, and the seriousness muddling the humor. ![]() I think it feels like a parody because the show suffers from having an identity crisis. I wish I could have seen what the three of them could have done with these roles in the hands of better writers. Daniella Pineda is at her best when Faye has quiet, humanizing moments. John Cho is good in his role but he doesn’t quite read as Spike to me. The highlight of the show is Mustafa Shakir as Jet, he’s perfectly cast. On the plus side, the main three actors had enough natural charisma to overcome the weak writing (except for the cringe inducing ‘quirky’ cursing they gave Faye). But there’s no really compelling reason to talk about it otherwise.” The scripts are weak, the dialogue tries to be clever but falls flat, and they flatten and iron out the bounty-of-the-week characters they adapt, disposing of their most compelling elements. I’m just gonna quote the headline from the NYT review as it put my thoughts into words succinctly - “It’s unfair to compare Netflix’s live-action remake to the anime original. If you judge the show on its own and try not to compare it to the original… well I still don’t think it’s very good. From looking at reviews, its prequel, Subnautica was worse with its pacing to the point where it was uncertain exactly what it was the player had to do to progress the plot. While the game is very beautiful to look at, I found the type of game on the slow side. Subnautica: Below Zero - PlayStation 5 Direct Capture Subnautica: Below Zero Is Confusing In Its Endgoal There’s also a hardcore mode in which upon player death, the game automatically ends and the save file gets deleted. Players who feel overwhelmed in not knowing what to do can take solace in the various game modes that Below Zero has to offer, including a “Creative mode” which allows players to build their world without the worry of finding resources or monitoring Robin’s health. Conversely, the frigid icecaps on the surface show how treacherous mother nature can be, with thunderstorms and blizzards happening at any given notice. Fortunately, the environment is beautiful to grasp as the vibrant colors of the wildlife flourish underwater. You can also craft helpful equipment from the wildlife, including a combat knife and upgrades to Robin’s equipment, making her journey across the unknown planet go smoothly in the process.īelow Zero does not hold your hand, it requires the player to take risks for the plot to go anywhere and to figure out the mystery behind the death of your sibling. Converting the fishes into water will help with hydration, but that will also lead to a lack of sustenance, forcing the player to decide which of the two is more important. Players will have to be mindful of the various types of edible organisms as some may sate their hunger while also leave players lacking thirst at the same time. Subnautica: Below Zero - PlayStation 5 Direct Capture Micromanage And Survive Under The Sea Fortunately, wildlife is abundant, including fish and edible plants, for Robin to harvest and transform into food to alleviate said problems. Things that need to be micromanaged, including oxygen levels, hunger, thirst, and temperature status, also add to the challenge. The game encourages you to explore the area surrounding her, while also being mindful of their surroundings. The moment the protagonist lands on Planet 4546B, Robin is left to nothing more than a rescue pod, complete with various necessities including storage and a crafting table, as well as her suit which has basic levels of oxygen. I preferred the latter visually as it appeared brighter than the “Quality” mode, although I saw what they were going for with the usage of post-processing. Unfortunately, even under “Quality” mode, the game’s framerate starts to dip to the point where it’s best to keep it under “Performance” mode. ![]() ![]() Subnautica: Below Zero - PlayStation 5 Direct Capture Performance Takes A Dip In Some Aspects In “Quality” mode, this is made clearer as realistic shadows and anti-aliasing make the game feel more realistic while keeping its cartoon atmosphere. For a Unity engine game, the game pushes the engine to the limits as vivid colors flourish and pop in high fidelity. The PS5 offers improved visuals compared to the PS4 and Switch counterparts, running at a solid framerate in Performance mode while doing little to deviate from the colorful and impressive graphics. Below Zero is way on the opposite side of that spectrum, absolutely refusing to tell you more than what the protagonist already knows arriving at a foreign location which is absolutely nothing. At certain times, video games are guilty of “holding your hand” through a lot of the story to the point where it feels like an interactive movie rather than a game in which you explore your surroundings.
